Eileen Momblanco Selected Among Crain’s Notable Women in Law in 2022
Eileen Momblanco has been honored among Crain’s Notable Women in Law in 2022 for her outstanding professional achievements and reputation as a preeminent business immigration attorney in the industry. The annual award, published in the September issue of Crain’s Chicago Business, features a select group of exceptional women leaders who have made a significant impact on the legal profession, have achieved success while promoting other women and exhibit remarkable leadership in their roles.
Eileen has devoted her career to the practice of immigration law, counseling businesses and individuals on a variety of employment-based immigration matters and leading large multinational corporations as they navigate complex immigration issues. Heading up the firm’s Business Immigration Department since 2008, Eileen has seen the department through years of pendulum swings on immigration policy, pivoting and adjusting the firm’s course on critical matters.
As highlighted in her Crain’s feature, Eileen has been instrumental in addressing the negative impact of the pandemic on her clients’ workforces. She successfully assisted a multinational client with a critical multi-million dollar project to navigate changes in the law making it difficult to bring foreign talent to the U.S. to work on the project. Eileen obtained visa approvals for a large group of foreign national employees before the client’s deadlines, ensuring that their business goals for this significant investment in the U.S. could be met. In response to drastic and rapid policy changes, Eileen remains at the forefront of pivotal immigration developments, keeping clients abreast of new laws and guarding against risk as they face evolving regulations with the power to affect their workforces.
As Chair of the firm’s Business Immigration Department and a founding member of Laner’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Eileen mentors a tight-knit team of professionals within her group while carrying a compassionate attitude for clients’ business concerns and a responsive outlook for their goals. Colleagues describe Eileen as a fiercely hard-working advocate for clients’ immigration issues and an empathetic and trusting mentor, leading from her experience to help peers achieve their professional aspirations.
