Four Attorneys Join Laner Muchin’s Labor and Traditional Practices

Laner Muchin is proud to welcome Rachel E. Clark, Alex Levin, Edward “Clint” Shivers and Megan Wilkes to the Firm. 

“We are excited to have Rachel, Alex, Clint and Megan join our growing team,” said Managing Partner Andy Goldberg. “The addition of these four attorneys will enable us to elevate our Labor and Traditional Practice Groups and ensure continued outstanding service to our clients.”

Rachel joins the Firm as Of Counsel and concentrates her practice on labor law matters, including grievance processing, labor arbitrations, collective bargaining and employee discipline, as well as administrative agency proceedings for both public and private employers. She also provides education and training on a variety of labor and employment topics such as terminations, disciplinary issues, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, organizing efforts and credentialing compliance.

Before joining the firm, Rachel served for 16 years as Associate General Counsel for the largest educators’ union in Illinois, where she provided a wide range of services and advice related to labor, employment and education matters.

Alex joins the Firm as an Associate, focusing his practice on employment litigation. He is well-versed in a wide array of complex employment litigation issues, including claims based in Title VII, the Illinois Human Rights Act, ADA, ADEA and other federal and state statutes.

Prior to joining the Firm, Alex worked for a large defense litigation firm in Chicago, where he represented employers in administrative hearings related to allegations of employment discrimination and wrongful termination. He has addressed a wide range of legal topics in court, including issues related to employment, property damage, premises liability, transportation and legal malpractice.

Clint Shivers joins Laner Muchin as an incoming Associate. Initially, Clint joined the Firm as an extern, then he was promoted to student law clerk on a part-time basis.

Clint earned his J.D. at the Chicago-Kent College of Law in May 2024, earning a Labor and Employment Law Certificate. A Dean’s Honor List Recipient, Clint served on the Student Bar Association and the Black Law Students Association and as a mentor for the Chicago-Kent Peer Mentoring Program.

Megan joins the Firm as Of Counsel, focusing her practice on construction-related labor and benefits issues, counseling clients on day-to-day labor-management issues, employee benefit contribution compliance and interpreting and negotiating collective bargaining agreements. She also defends employers in civil litigation matters, including employment discrimination and retaliation claims.

Previously, Megan worked as an Associate Attorney at a Chicago-based law firm, counseling clients on numerous employment and labor law issues.

Laner Muchin Ltd. concentrates in the representation of employers in labor relations, employment litigation, employee benefits and business immigration and assists clients with their general business law needs and commercial litigation matters. The firm provides legal services to clients from coast to coast.
